The Shaolin Experience

On Saturday 14th of august 2012 I arrived at the Qufu East Train station. When I came out, the translator of the school, Nelly, was waiting for me. We took a cab to the school and my Shaolin experience began.

Because it was the First time I did a trip like this, I had no idea what to expect, but from the moment I met the first students, I knew it would be a nice time, and I was definitely right! Al the students are nice to each other and for me it really felt like a big family. I made a lot of friends from all over the world.

On Monday the 16th I had my first training and I really enjoyed it. The last time I did martial arts before was ten years ago so it was pretty new for me, but my Shifu explained everything step by step so it was really good to learn. Also with more advanced forms the shifu kept teaching the things step by step so it was really good for me to learn everything.

What I also really liked in the school, were the many different classes there are. It brings a lot of variety and on this way you learn a lot on different styles.

In total I went 6 weeks to the school and I really liked my stay! Even if I was there only for a short time, I learned a lot and I am a experience richer. I really recommend the school. Either for persons for long time but definitely also for short term students.
