He is the 7th generation inheritor of Chinese Praying Mantis Fist; first level national martial arts instructor and ranked band 6 in Chinese Martial Arts.
Master Zhang was born in 1958 and has trained in Kung Fu for nearly 50 years. He first trained in Shaolin Kung Fu and Mantis Fist in his early years. In his life, he followed a lot of famous Chinese martial artists, such as Mr. Zhang Yu Qing, the 6th generation Inheritor of Seven Star Mantis fist；Mr. Lu Junde, the 3rd generation inheritor of Honglian style Kung Fu; Mr. Zhou Yongfu, 6th generation Inheritor of Plum Blossom Mantis Fist; Mr. Hong Zhiyin, founder of Hou Style Northern Shaolin Kung Fu.
In the 1980s, he created his own style: Honglian Mantis Fist, based on Praying Mantis Fist, Honglian Fist, and Shaolin Kung Fu, and fully absorbed the essence of Xingyi, Bagua, Taiji, wrestling, and Qin'na. After this, he spent all his time to create a full system of Honglian Mantis.
In 2003, he started to work to set up the "Mantis Fist Committee of Xuzhou City" in his hometown and later was selected the professional president of that Committee.
He also won lots of medals in competitions。 In 2005, he won the golden medal for animal style and silver medal for double weapons on the 3rd International Martial Arts festival for Hong Kong. In 2006, his Mantis form and double hooks demonstration won two golden medals in Xi'an in the national Martial arts competition. In 2007, his Mantis form won a sliver medal on the "2nd international Mantis competition".
