A nice place in a calm location. There is no main street with cars driving around right in front of you. You can easily stay peaceful and relaxed when you are outside.
The school building itself is constructed in a traditional way which sets a good atmosphere for training Kung Fu. There are lots of trees around the school building so you feel comfortable sitting outside while reading, meditating. Around the school there are lots of mountains which is great if you like to hike/ climb or just explore the area. There are several shops and some local restaurants close by (5 min walking from school).
At school there is a small shop where you can buy most of the stuff you daily need like Kung Fu shoes, shampoo, towels, snacks, clothing. The air condition is much more better than in the city. I never had any problem while training here.
The masters give you the “instruments” but you have to use them to make progress. There is always more to train and once you realize you are progressing you create an inner urge to get better and better.
The atmosphere is strict but never uncomfortable. Training is hard but satisfying. You won't be going anywhere by being lazy or not-fully committing. You have to realize: You are learning Kung Fu. In China. By real Shaolin Warriors. And you chose it that way.
The training hall is freshly renewed. It is a big hall with new floor, puzzle mats for tumbling/ sparring, several wooden dummies and there is a section for weight lifting.
Outside the training hall are different bar setups you can also use to strengthen your body.
The masters are incredible persons. They provide you with lots of useful information and can answer you barely any question concerning Kung Fu.
You really can learn a lot if you show them you take your training seriously.
They are strict in training but also nice and keep pushing you beyond your physical and mental limits. You can tell they enjoy teaching.
Food is quite tasty. You have to like rice though! Besides rice there are several dishes in the middle of the table you can choose from.
As I said it’s good but after several weeks it lacks of variety. Still it provides your body with everything you need.
The rooms are quite simple: One bed, one table with a chair and a cupboard. I find it refreshing living in a room that is not as stuffed as usual.
It frees you mind if you are surrounded with more free space.
The beds are quite harder than beds at home but I love it since my back problems vanished after sleeping here.
There are western toilets which are cleaned twice a day. The cleaning ladies are doing a good job. The showers are warm and sufficient. Wifi is available in the entire school.
If there are too many people using it, it slows down but still it’s fine for skype calls and whatsapp. Yet you shouldn’t come here and expect to be able to watch series on netflix or youtube all day long.
I can recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn authentic Kung Fu. You have to be able to deal with restrictions and adapt to a more simple life here. The location is great, I enjoy being in the rural environment and move outside everyday. Everyone here is very nice. You get to know amazing individuals from all over the world and i even consider my friends here as part of my family.
Living here in this warm-hearted community has been one of the best experiences of my life. You progress fast in training if you want to but just sitting around and hoping to make progress won’t get you anywhere, you have to put in the effort.
Since this is what ”Kung Fu” means: great effort. Being here I have the time of my life.
I enjoy it very much and recommend it to anyone to take the first step into this adventure!
